Where It All Started

Ralph’s woodworking journey began in January 2020 with something simple — whittling. What started as a way to pass time quickly turned into something more meaningful.

A year later, he began crafting custom wooden flags. The more he built, the more he found himself completely absorbed in the process — What began as a hobby became a calling.

After relocating to Tennessee in 2022, Ralph began selling at local craft shows, building a small but loyal following of customers who appreciated true handcrafted work.

Built with Discipline and Integrity

Before becoming a professional woodworker, Ralph served in the United States Air Force from 1995 to 1998, including a tour during Operation Desert Storm at Minot Air Force Base. There, he developed the discipline, precision, and commitment to excellence that now define his craftsmanship.

Those values guide every build—no shortcuts, no mass production, just steady hands and high standards.

From Workshop to Full Craft

In July 2024, Ralph refined his craft at Riverwoods Home Furnishings, building reclaimed barnwood furniture. When the business closed, he chose to carry the tradition forward.

He founded Kickin Up Dust Woodworks to create heirloom-quality pieces from reclaimed barnwood and premium hardwoods for both local and out-of-state clients.

The Philosophy

Furniture should do more than fill a room — it should mean something.

At Kickin Up Dust, every piece is built by hand using reclaimed barnwood and premium hardwoods chosen for their strength and character. No mass production. No shortcuts. Just honest craftsmanship, attention to detail, and furniture built to last for generations.

Handcrafted with heart. Designed to last.
